WHY GETTING MARRIED AT HOME IS A GREAT IDEA

Getting married is to one true soul mate of yours is one of the most beautiful feeling ever. Due to this pandemic situation of COVID-19, it has become extremely difficult for people who were planning to get married.

What people lack to understand is that marriage is a bond of love between two people and their families. It is not necessary to invite 1000 people into it, and do it in a gigantic venue. Getting married at home is kind of old tradition, in old days when there was no concept of big fat events. We are totally not against with the big fat desi weddings we love to cover your happiness whether it is happening in a small room or gigantic hall. We personally do love the small intimate events where all your close loved ones are there, we get to see so many expressions, candid laughter and what not.

We got to do a small survey for you guys where we talked to different girls who got married during lockdown. We asked them some questions regarding their experience.

Our first bride is Fatima Imam from Karachi, Pakistan. She got married during the lockdown.

TSF :

How would you describe your experience?

Fatima :

My experience was better than I expected. At first it seemed like a majboori, with no MUA, photographer or bridal dress. But it eventually turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

We were at peace, thoroughly living each moment, feeling the true essence of marriage that has been long forgotten.

TSF :

Would you recommend getting married at home

Fatima :

If you have a family that is ready to help get everything together, and if you and your partner both find happiness in getting married at home then there should be nothing stopping you.

The people pushing you for a big fat wedding won't be paying your bills, in fact they'll be the ones saying "biryani main boti nahi thi", "hamain tou stage pe nahi bulaya".

However if you find happiness in a lavish wedding, then there's nothing wrong with it either.

What are the Perks?

Fatima :

Perks of getting married at home,

- You save so much money that you can buy yourself a car!

- No nosy rishtedar

- You and your family actually enjoy each ritual to the fullest

- Everything is on your own terms at your place

- The lights aren't turned off at midnight.

The only Con she mentioned was, No salaami or post shadi dawats.

Now have a look at another bride of the day who also got married during this lockdown, her experience with the MUA and designer.

How would you describe your experience?

Aafreen :

Everything was already planned (the halls, Photographer, xyz so getting our amount was a tad bit stressful. Many people cooperated many didn't.

Except for this hassle everything was smooth. My whole wedding ... From arrangements at home to food and my makeup (I think costed us 60k). Otherwise our wedding budget was exceeding 5.5 lac (my wedding was nowhere extravagant). This is how much basic wedding costs which is extremely sad.

TSF :

Would you recommend getting married at home?

Aafreen :

I would definitely recommend getting married at home for the following reasons:

A)- Sunnah.

B)- Doesn't burden parents

C)- Marriage these days doesn't costs less than at least 5 lac. Why feed so many people who will try their hardest to find faults. You can't make everyone happy, anyway.

D)- Quality gathering matters rather than quantity. We need to learn this ASAP.

E)- The money that we saved from the wedding will be spent on us. Inshalllah we gonna to umrah (the whole family) as soon as the situations get better.

What are the Perks?

Aarfeen :

Here are perks. Our photoshoot had only 15-20 people. It was extremely enjoyable with all the close family members.

My baraat came at 8:30 by 11:30 I was in my new home.

These are some insights from brides who got married during the pandemic COVID-19 lockdown. We are totally supporting the idea of getting married at home. As its cost effective as well as quality of gathering is important than quantity.
